Trail Overview
This just under 2 mile trail climbs 120 feet and drops 120 feet as it navigates through terrain that's one vehicle wide. The surface is deep sand that's very bumpy due to heavy washboards throughout. The route cuts through a forest of desert brush and drops in and out of washes while running up and down small hills. You'll encounter off-camber sections that demand attention as you work through the terrain. There's one steep hill that rewards you with nice views of the valley below from the top. You'll enjoy nice views of the Trigo Mountains, and seasonal desert flowers add color when in bloom. The last section transitions to an open desert with hard pack sand and small rocks creating uneven surfaces. This trail is part of the Bureau of Reclamation lands and ends at EC1224.
Difficulty
The deep sand combined with heavy washboards creates a challenging, jarring ride that will test your suspension. The off-camber sections and steep hill require careful navigation and good momentum management. Dropping in and out of washes adds technical elements. Four Wheel Drive and airing down are highly recommended for the deep sand sections.
