This is the only maintained road to crown king. No obstacles and only washboarding. Passed a UPS box truck on its way to crown king.

Pretty smooth country dirt roads all the way to the top. Some patches of washboarding. Great scenery.

The Bumble Bee exit showed closed but it appeared to be open. Recommend checking AZDOT for construction closures on the 17/Bumble Bee

The weather was great for this last minute day trip from North Phoenix to Crown King. It was my first time to CK after living in AZ for 15 years I thought the road was going to be more sketchy than it actually was. All in all, a great ride. Hit 100K about 2 miles from the 17 on the way back.

Fun trail. Very easy technically but my gosh is it bumpy. Lots of small groves and bumps. My jeep was bouncing the whole way up. My 3 year old was exhausted by the time we got to the top to stop for food. Very pretty trail though. I seen a few Subarus going up so not very hard just bumpy and rough the whole way. Lots of cool spots to explore and camp when weather gets a bit cooler. The town at the top was just OK. Same for the food at the restaurant. Expensive as well. $90 for 5 people. Would do the trail again but skip the town and food.

The first 7 miles appears to have recently been graded, as it was very smooth. After that there were a few spots of washboard, but nothing terrible.
