Trail Overview
Black Butte Wash is a fun, technical, rock-strewn route that follows a natural wash with tight turns and multiple line choices throughout. Drivers should expect frequent obstacles, including rock gardens and ledges ranging from approximately 12 to 24 inches in height, as well as sections that are narrow and overgrown. Careful wheel placement and undercarriage awareness are essential. The original mapped track may lead toward steep, impractical climbs along the wash walls; it is advisable to remain within the wash and select lines cautiously. Wildlife and livestock may be encountered along the route.
Due to the terrain, a high clearance 4WD vehicle is required. Travel is not advised during or after inclement weather, as conditions can deteriorate quickly.
Difficulty
Trail has rock gardens, 2- 24” shelf walls to cross tight vegetation, overgrown brush pinstripes, and belly stripes in sections. Possibly Impassable in wet conditions. 4WD and high clearance needed
