Trail Overview
This is a short but moderate spur that connects 482 and 483, which are two of the longer trails in the trail system. The mile-long route is constantly full of loose baby head-sized rocks, with short climbs and descents. The trail winds across the desert hilltops, past ocotillos and mesquite trees. The trail has frequent ruts and very chunky rock surfaces, including some small rock ledges. The constant rocks will be a good test of your endurance. The trail has some tighter turns and mild switchbacks through the loose terrain as it winds up a hillside and back down. Most of it is gradual, but there are some steeper spots that, combined with the loose terrain, make it less ideal for beginner riders.
Difficulty
This route has some steep and loose spots that make it more ideal for intermediate riders. It has frequent baby heads, ruts, and larger embedded rocks that add to the difficulty.
