Trail Overview
Long Lake 6271 is a one-lane gravel road with vegetation growing on the road after it passes the hiking trailhead. This is a nice scenic drive past a lake to the Long Lake Recreation area which has a picnic area, outhouse, and boardwalk trail to Long Lake. The Long Lake Road 6271 road continues past the recreation area and is a gravel road covered with vegetation that ends when the trail is overgrown. There is space to camp in a vehicle here as well as at the Recreation area. Lots of views of muskeg and lakes and a hiking trail to Long Lake. Fishing is allowed here so verify with Alaska Fish and Wildlife the area you wish to fish and get the appropriate fishing license. Watch for Wildlife and stay on the trails as most of this area is muskeg.
