Trail Overview
Fredrick Drive is a maintained graveled road that starts wide enough for two passing vehicles and quickly goes to a one-lane highway with some pull-out areas for passing. There are many more enormous potholes in this area, so watch your speed, as some are deeper than others. This road follows the island curves on the coastline of Fredrick Sou and has access to City Creek Trail and a large rock pit area. It starts from the edge of Petersburg town and turns into Fredrick 6204 at the turn-off to Climber 6207. There are views of Fredrick Sound along the winding road. Watch for wildlife crossing the road. Bears, Porcupines, and Deer are in this area. Be mindful of vehicles coming in the opposite direction. Large Ferns, Devils Club, tall grass, a variety of trees, lichens, mo, ss, and flowers can be seen along the road. Views: Forested scenics and views through the trees to Fredrick Sound can be seen along the road.Warnings: Keep on the road. There is a drop-off in some areas; watch for signs of road deterioration or washouts due to heavy rainfall. Be mindful of wildlife, especially Bears and Deer.
