Trail Overview
Climber Road starts at the end of Fredrick Drive. It is mainly compacted. Large rip rap and gravel with grass and moss are growing on the road. This road is very uneven and has areas that are overgrowing. The rocks are very sharp, so watch your sidewalls. This road climbs in elevation to the end, with some sections that flatten out a bit to hold water. There are some larger sinkholes, some filled with large rocks, and areas of steep drop-offs on both sides and, closer to the top, a drop-off toward the ocean view. There are four campsites on this road. There is a sign of Moose and Bear on this road. Large Ferns, Skunk cabbage, DevilsClubb, and a variety of trees, shrubs, and flowers line this road,d and the road travels by a rock pit, muskeg, trees, and small waterfalls. Views of scenic landscapes, trees, muskeg, small waterfalls, Fredrick Sound, and the entrance to La Conte Bay.Warnings: Keep on the road. There is a drop-off in some areas; watch for signs of road deterioration or washouts due to heavy rainfall. Be mindful of wildlife, especially Bears. No cell service noted weather conditions, and be prepared for rain, fog with low visibility, and lower temperatures. It is a rainforest.
