Trail Overview
This trail begins off the road to Cadeje, bypassing the town entirely and connecting with the route to Mulege. The first portion is relatively smooth, with stretches of soft sand winding through mid-height desert vegetation, where a few tall cardon cacti stand prominently along the way. As the trail progresses, it drops in and out of several arroyos and gradually transitions into rockier conditions. Eventually, a wide canyon appears ahead, cutting across the trail. Here, you'll reach a fork: the main route turns left, skirting the edge of the canyon and looping back toward Cadeje to intersect the San Juanico-Mulege road. If you're heading directly to Mulege, the right fork continues north, but be advised, it's a long, remote journey requiring a capable vehicle, extra supplies, and a tolerance for rougher, higher-rated terrain. From this point on, the trail becomes increasingly rocky until it reaches its end at the Mulege road, where a weathered, fallen sign marks the nearby ranches and signals the conclusion of this route.
