Trail Overview
This trail begins at the highway to Puerto Adolfo Lopez Mateos and runs in a mostly straight line for roughly three-quarters of its length. The surface consists primarily of light sand, ranging from about an inch to four inches deep, with a few short climbs where evidence of 2WD vehicles struggling is visible. However, these gentle hills--no more than 20 to 30 meters in elevation--pose little challenge for 4WD vehicles or those with properly aired-down tires. As you approach a prominent trail intersection marked by past off-road racing routes, the landscape begins to open up, offering broader views and your best glimpse of the ocean. Here, the trail merges with another route: a right turn leads into the mangroves, while a left turn takes you toward the El Canalito area.
