Trail Overview

This short but steep trail offers some of the best views of the Skeena Valley. You start the trail on a well-groomed single-lane road that quickly becomes steep with multiple switchbacks. Longer vehicles may have to complete multiple point turns. Much of the trail contains loose gravel and medium-sized rocks. Most AWD vehicles should have little difficulty reaching the top. There are some sections where moderate clearance will make life easier. The trail itself is mainly used to service two BC Hydro Towers at the top, with many hiking and Mountain Biking using the main trail as a start location. It is not uncommon to find snow near the top of the trail into May, with snow beginning to fall in late October. There is one section of the shelf road that may be particularly tricky if attempting this trail with snow on the ground.
