Trail Overview
Copper Flats is the closest thing to an offroad park that the Terrace area has to offer. Located 20 minutes from downtown Terrace, Copper Flats starts with a bit of a gatekeeper with a steep hill descending into the flats. After that, there are many trails to explore with almost every terrain. There are deep puddles, rocky trails, mud pits, and sand. There are three access points to the River with places to camp or just have a fire. This area is great for those who want to test out the capabilities of their 4-wheel drive and suspension. This area is accessible year-round, but have a good look at the entry to the flats as you will need to come back out that same way.
Difficulty
Copper Flats is a low area next to a river. It is prone to flooding. This area also has many different terrains, ranging from difficult to easy. There are some very deep mud holes and large areas covered in river rock. There is a steep drop into this area that may be difficult to get back up if your vehicle has low clearance. This is a year-round area and fun in the snow.
