Trail Overview

This is an in-and-out type trail to waterfalls. If you go during winter months, they will be frozen. You'll cross a few water crossings and some mud holes along the route, and a couple of hill climbs as well. You can camp along the way or at the end with a short walk to the falls.

Difficulty

This is rated a 6 due to access during the winter, spring, and fall. Winter is the most challenging time to enter this trail due to deep snow and ice bridges. Deep and fast-moving water crossings are expected in spring and fall, with potentially deep mud crossings and slick hills. The summer rating for this trail would be a 3, as the water is low for crossing and most of the trail is dry or just water puddles

We were on the trail Sept 23. 3 Jeeps W/mods. Safer with fall crossing as you cross rivers multi times. Safer in groups. Surface changes constantly rock mud water elevation changes. Bring recovery gear. This is definitely one of my favorite trails. A must if you are in the area. Took approx 4 hours each way. Camping up near water fall site. Pit toilet.

Trail ratings are quite subjective based on rigs, seasons, and driver experience, however this one is quite accurate being a 6. Took my full size truck on 35s down here and I would strongly recommend a good driver to take a half ton truck through this trail. Be careful with picking your lines, lots of big rocks. A handful of quite narrow sections as well. Its a rough trail with lots of good sized rocks to drive over. Its basically one big rock garden. Air down. 4low. Use a spotter. Watch for big rocks. I would not say stock friendly for a regular pickup unless you want to beat on it and have a driver mod. Took us about 3.5 hours each way, taking it slow, I dont like to abuse my truck too much. Either way a fun wheel and rewarding destination, lots of great camp sites along the way.

Very beautiful trail. we did this in our custom 2000 Dodge neon that is on top of a 1999 Subaru Forester with a minimum of 12 inches of ground clearance. I do not recommend taking your car down the trail. You can watch our video on the trail on YouTube channel name Cars With Nash.

Wow! What a fun trail. To start you have the two foot deep water crossing that leads into the first set of mud puddles. Once your through there your onto the long rocky stretch zigzagging back and forth across and up the creek. Tons of great places to camp along the trail and even a big spot not far from the falls. Although we didn’t go more than 15km/hr down the trail airing down to 15psi definitely helped make a smoother ride. I will caution that there are some tire killers out there as one of our members did loose a tire along the way… RIP RR. However this is a great beginner trail to learn on and has an amazing pay off! Well worth it.

River was fairly low. There are a few ways to cross, you will need a good approach angle as some ice is still there and acts like a wall. If you can get past the first river crossing you should be okay. There is still a few ice bridges, be very careful as it is easy to fall through and get high centred with not a lot of places to winch.

The trail is technically open, however the ice is thin enough to break through but thick enough to damage your vehicle. Ice was roughly 4 inches thick and my F150 sustained damaged running boards, fender and 2 missing mudflaps, surprisingly no bumper damage. I would recommend avoiding the trail in late October
