Loop
Starting from the North Bayview Road trailhead, the Reese-Wolf Preserve Loop heads south into a quiet stretch of mature oak, maple, and beech forest. This approach follows a short connector trail before joining the main loop. Stay right at the junction to hike the route counterclockwise, curving west and then gradually turning north. The trail passes near seasonal wetlands and vernal pools that attract amphibians, migratory birds, and other wildlife common to the Great Hog Neck Peninsula.
This easy route follows flat terrain and is well-suited for relaxed nature walks, photography, or birdwatching. Expect occasional mud in wet seasons and use caution for poison ivy and ticks during warmer months. The loop returns to the trailhead from the east side, forming a short, rewarding outing with minimal crowds and quiet woodland atmosphere.
