The route starts at the trailhead on Newman Avenue, just north of the Seekonk Public Library. Follow the Blue Trail west into the woods, staying right to pass along the north side of Gammino Pond. Continue staying right as the trail briefly enters Rhode Island and skirts the edge of Central Pond heading south toward the wooded paths of Seekonk Sanctuary. After exploring the sanctuary area, return along the same trail, or stay right again to walk along the south side of Gammino Pond before arriving back at the trailhead.
This is a mellow, low-elevation route popular for day hikes near Seekonk, with a mostly flat trailbed and short distance that make it approachable for families and leashed dogs. Wildlife sightings—such as swans and hawks—are common, and the forested setting offers year-round quiet. Wear sturdy footwear for damp or uneven spots, and bring bug spray during warmer months.
