The Three Mile River Dam Trail begins in the Boyden Wildlife Refuge off Cohannet Street in Taunton, Massachusetts. From the main entrance, follow the wide, mostly flat path into a wooded corridor alongside the Three Mile River. The route leads downstream through mixed forest and occasional open areas with views of the water. Though the trail surface is generally well-packed dirt and gravel, sections can become muddy following rain or snowmelt.
Several side paths branch off into the eastern portion of the refuge, but signage is limited—stay oriented by keeping the river on your left during the approach. The trail ends at the dam structure on the river, where hikers can enjoy views of the water and surrounding woods before returning via the same trail. This short, easy route is suitable for dogs on leash and offers a peaceful setting for bird-watching or relaxed walking.
