From the Blue Factory Road parking area, hikers can access three primary trails within Barberville Falls Preserve: the Falls Trail, Ridge Trail, and Davitt Creek Trail. The Falls Trail descends quickly through hardwood forest toward Barberville Falls, crossing Davitt Creek via a wooden bridge before reaching an overlook near the gorge rim. A short spur continues to a viewpoint near the base of the 92-foot cascade—expect steep footing and slick rock in this area.
Backtrack to reconnect with the Ridge Trail, which climbs moderately to follow the preserve’s wooded upper edge. This trail offers a quieter experience and occasional glimpses down into the gorge. The Davitt Creek Trail branches off near the ridge’s end, descending gently through fern-covered forest and crossing several small seasonal streams before rejoining the main route near the trailhead.
This network is ideal for short day hikes near Albany, with options to explore both creekside terrain and elevated forest. The falls are the highlight, especially in spring or after rain, but the quiet forest sections offer a peaceful contrast.
