Description
To access the Pogue Brook Trail, the most direct way to get there is to take the Mountain Road Trail from the entrance of the park to the trail. Parking for Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historical Park is located at the Billings Farm and Museum. Cross the road and make your way into the park. If you need to get water, maps, information about the park, or to use the restroom, continue up the hill to the visitor center. Otherwise, take The Mountain Road Trail to the right for roughly three quarters of a mile until you arrive at the junction with the Pogue Brook Trail. The trail breaks off to the right and meanders through the woods on a wide path through the woods. It transforms to dirt, leaves, and grass as it goes through the woods. The trail passes over a small creek that comes out of the Pogue via a wooden bridge. The trail follows along the creek for a short distance before breaking away and starting to climb uphill through the forest. Pogue Brook Trail is shaded throughout its duration until it emerges at the Spring Lot Trail, which is is a small open field. From here, you can go right and go up to the Nordic Ski Shelter and use the Maple Grove Loop and Ravine Trail to get back to the Pogue Brook Trail. You can also turn to the left and meet up with the Summer Pasture Road Trail and loop back to the Mountain Road Trail and then back down to your vehicle.
