Description
This easy route begins from a parking area on Creekside Drive in Ellicott Creek Park. After a short walk, cross the footbridge over Tonawanda Creek to reach Ellicott Island, sometimes referred to as “Three-Mile Island.” The paved path forms a gentle loop around the island, offering views of Ellicott Creek and Tonawanda Creek throughout. There is minimal elevation change, making this route suitable for walkers of all abilities. Along the way, you’ll pass creek overlooks, picnic shelters, and a designated off-leash bark park for dogs. The trail remains open year-round, though surfaces may be slippery or partially flooded in wet seasons due to the park’s low-lying location. This is a pleasant, relaxed route for a short outing with water views close to Buffalo.
