Scenic Woods Red and Orange

This easy route begins inside Scenic Woods Park near the Sturbridge Lane entrance. Follow the Red Trail first, which makes a gentle circuit around a small pond and passes through more open sections of the park. From there, connect to the Orange Trail, which heads deeper into the woods. The Orange Trail crosses Gun Creek and travels through a mix of shaded forest and wetland habitat, offering opportunities to spot migratory birds and other wildlife. The combined route highlights the park’s conservation area, with its mix of pond, creek, and wooded terrain. Minimal elevation change makes this a good year-round option for walking or snowshoeing in winter. The return follows the same trails back toward the trailhead, closing the loop.
