The Goat Island Scenic Walk begins where pedestrian bridges connect Goat Island to the mainland at Niagara Falls State Park. From here, the paved route loops around the island, offering near-constant views of the Niagara River and dramatic access to the American Falls, Bridal Veil Falls, and Horseshoe Falls. The path is mostly flat with occasional gentle inclines, and remains paved and accessible throughout. Early in the walk, turn off briefly to Luna Island to stand between the American and Bridal Veil Falls. Continue past wooded sections and open viewpoints as the route curves west toward Terrapin Point, where Horseshoe Falls churn below. Along the southern edge, small footbridges connect to the Three Sisters Islands, a quieter side excursion with close-up views of the river’s rapids.
This is one of the best short day hikes near Niagara Falls for easily accessed waterfall views. The entire loop remains open year-round, though icy patches and winter closures may affect access near the water.
