The History and Beechtree Trail begins at the main parking area for Reinstein Woods Nature Preserve and forms a gentle route through mixed forest and wetland habitat. Starting from the trailhead kiosk, hikers follow a wide, packed-earth path through shaded woods, passing several points of interest marked with interpretive signs. At a Y-intersection, stay right to access the Beechtree Trail segment, which winds past stands of mature beech trees—some of the oldest in the preserve.
Continuing through the route, visitors encounter additional signage about the preserve’s land use history and surrounding ecosystems. Elevated boardwalks carry hikers across wetland areas where deer, turtles, and songbirds are often spotted. Short connector paths offer optional returns or extensions, all leading back to the original starting point.
