Bullis Hollow Trail follows a forested route between the Marilla Reservoir area and Tracy Ridge, offering a remote, rugged experience in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny National Forest. Starting from the east, hikers can access the route via Marilla Bridges Trail and Marilla Springs Trail near the reservoir. On the west end, it begins near Tracy Ridge Campground off Forest Route 321. The trail travels through hardwood forest and the Chestnut Ridge Wilderness Study Area, with a narrow singletrack path that crosses multiple small streams and climbs along wooded hillsides and ridgelines.
This route can be completed one way or linked with the Marilla and North Country trail systems for extended backpacking. Navigation may be challenging due to limited signage and long stretches without junctions—bring a map, compass, or GPS. The trail is typically accessible from spring through fall, though snow and wet conditions may persist in shoulder seasons. Expect uneven tread, limited cellphone service, and the potential presence of hunters—wear high-visibility clothing in season. Dispersed camping is allowed under Forest Service regulations. Bullis Hollow provides a quieter alternative to more developed trails, with steady terrain, water crossings, and connections to larger regional trail networks.
