The parking in this area may be confusing, since one of the parking areas is on private property. The actual beginning of the trail is debatable, since the signage is poor.

Description
This trail starts from the parking area off old country road, and travels west along the northern edge of Nebraska Valley Road. It travels along a narrow corridor, paralleling Nebraska Valley Road. Eventually the trail reaches the Lake Mansfield Trout Club building and the supposed start to the Lake Mansfield Trail. It skirts around the base of the mountain and the Trout Club property. The trail turns and ascends through a valley. Shortly before reaching Taylor Lodge, you'll run into a piped spring (on the right). This is the water source for the lodge, so fill up here if you're traveling farther than the lodge. To the left of the spring is a large canyon with a small pool at the bottom. The trail continues on to Taylor Lodge, but continues until it reaches the Long Trail. Lake Mansfield Trail ends, here, at the Long Trail.
