Loop
The Meadowbrook Preserve Loop begins at a small trailhead on Meadowbrook Road in Queensbury and forms an easy, family-friendly route through a mix of open meadow and shaded woodland. From the trailhead, the path crosses a grassy area filled with wildflowers in summer, then enters a quiet forest where the route gently winds toward a wetland section along Halfway Brook. Along the way, hikers will pass a dozen interpretive signs highlighting native plants, animals, and habitat types.
Several short junctions and connecting trails form a meandering loop through the preserve, with wide, well-maintained paths suitable for walking, snowshoeing, or beginner-level biking. Some areas near the meadow and wetlands can become muddy or icy depending on the season, so waterproof footwear is recommended. The trail ends where it began, returning through the meadow. This is a peaceful, accessible option for those seeking short day hikes in the Glens Falls area with a blend of natural features and educational value.
