There and Back
The Page Lake Trail begins at the East Fork Trailhead in the Anaconda-Pintler Wilderness and climbs steadily through dense forest along the East Fork Rock Creek. After a short distance, the route veers southwest at a signed junction and follows Page Creek, gaining elevation through a series of meadows that bloom with wildflowers in midsummer. The trail becomes rockier as it climbs, with a few steep sections, but remains manageable for experienced hikers. Stream crossings may appear early in the season.
As the trail enters higher terrain, views open up toward Warren Peak and the surrounding ridgelines. The route ends at Page Lake, a secluded alpine basin ringed by cliffs and talus. Wildlife sightings are possible, especially moose near the creek and mountain goats along the upper slopes. This moderately strenuous route offers solitude, scenic terrain, and a rewarding destination well worth the effort.
