Point to Point
This route begins and ends at the Field Farm parking area off Sloan Road in Williamstown, MA. From the trailhead, follow the North Trail west for a short distance through open fields with clear views of Mount Greylock before reaching the Oak Loop. Stay left, passing through stands of hardwoods and wildflower meadows. Continue north to connect with the Caves Trail. This portion of the route leads into a shaded woodland and features small limestone cave formations—take care on damp rock surfaces here.
Once Caves Trail circles back to Oak Loop, stay left to return to North Trail and connect with Pond Trail. This section skirts a marshy area and pond where waterfowl are often spotted. Continue to South Trail, which winds through lowland forest and eventually curves back around to rejoin Pond Trail and return to the parking area, completing the route. Trails are well-marked and gently rolling, making this route suitable for novice hikers and families. With minimal elevation change, a mix of terrain, and varied scenery, this route offers a rewarding walk through one of the Berkshires’ quieter preserves.
