This hike starts at the southern trailhead for the Suwanee Creek Greenway. The first 1.5 miles wind through hardwood forests on a wide path that loops back past the trailhead parking area. At about a mile into the hike, the trail starts to parallel Suwanee Creek for a scenic bit of hiking where you may spot wildlife in the woods along the creek, before crossing under McGinnis Ferry Road. Once under the road, continue to the right (the split to the left leads to another parking lot), and the path continues north for a short way until you have the option to take a right hand turn to loop around Berry Lake. This small lake is a man-made reservoir that sits between a residential neighborhood and nearby McGinnis Ferry Road. The paved path isn't as quiet as the rest of the Suwanee Creek Greenway, but it does make a nice option for a scenic loop to add on before making your return journey. If you aren't feeling like branching off the Suwanee Creek Greenway, you can simply do an out-and-back hike of your choosing, as you can turn around at any point on this 3.6-mile trail.
