Description
Start at MB 1, where the trail intersects with the approach to the boat ramp. From here, take a right, following along the river heading South. Continue straight at MB 2.In the spring and summer months, there will be plenty of foliage to make the trail mostly shady, with ferns and moss among the deadfalls on the forest floor. The stretch from MB 1 to MB 4 is about a quarter mile of very flat trail strolling through the trees next to the river. At MB 4, go straight across the intersection towards MB 9. This will begin a westward ascent away from the river, going up a fairly gentle elevation. When you near the top of the hill, the trail splits at MB 9. Take a right to start a counterclockwise loop going north from MB 9 to MB 8, 7, and down and over to MB 6.When you get to MB 8, make a left, taking you back towards the entrance road to the parking lot. When you see MB 7, go a little further until you almost reach that road, then make a left around a small section of wooden fence to get back on the trail proper. This will begin to turn back south towards MB 6.At MB 6, take a right, continuing a large loop down to MB 5.At MB 5, leave the loop by staying right again. This stretch meets back up with the river all the way down to MB 10. This section is also about a quarter mile. When you reach MB 10 and run out of trail, head back North the way you came to MB 5. Make a right at MB 5, this time taking the section staying closer to the river to MB 4. Make another right again at MB 4 and make your way back to MB 1.You can also make a Left at MB 2 and exit to the parking lot at MB 3 if you wish.
