Description
To access this trail, turn south (onto Magalloway Road) from Route 3. Follow Magalloway Road for approximately 11 miles until the road comes to a sharp left turn. Stay straight and to the right onto Garfield Falls/ East Branch Road. If you cross over a wooden ATV bridge with an orange gate, you just missed the turn. On your right will be a snowmobile junction with a wooden arrow, labeled Garfield Falls. The parking area has a kiosk and a bathroom. There is a lower parking area to reach the lower end of the trail, but it's not recommended. The trail descends, from the kiosk, down to Garfield Falls. From the base of the falls, the trail follows along the river. There aren't any blazes, but it's fairly straightforward. It turns right to end at a small grassy turnout. This turnout is the end of East Branch Road. To return to the parking area, you can either follow East Branch Road for 0.4 miles or head back along the trail. When leaving, you're better off going out the way you came in. If your GPS attempts to take you southward, ignore it.
