Loop
The Marilla Reservoir and White Pine Loop begins and ends alongside PA Route 346 just west of Bradford, Pennsylvania, at the parking area at the edge of the Marilla Reservoir. This well-maintained, crushed limestone route forms a mostly flat path around the reservoir, suitable for novice hikers, families, and those seeking a short, scenic outing. From the roadside, the trail enters a mixed forest of tall pines and hardwoods, closely following the northern and eastern shorelines and crossing several small wooden bridges.
At the southern end of the reservoir, pass a gazebo and benches before continuing briefly on the Marilla Springs Trail. A short distance later, turn right onto the White Pine Trail, which gains elevation gradually through quiet woods before curving back toward the reservoir. This section reconnects with the Marilla Bridges Trail near the western shore and returns to the starting point. Highlights include lake views, peaceful forest walking, and the Eric Benjamin Covered Bridge spanning the reservoir spillway. Hikers can also connect the other nearby trails, such as Bullis Hollow Trail by continuing south on Marilla Springs Trail. While short, this hybrid route offers a relaxed hiking experience with access to the broader Tuna Valley trail system.
