Point to Point
The Indian Pipe Trail begins at the Indian Pipe Trailhead along PA‑346, just west of Bradford, Pennsylvania. From the trailhead, the route travels generally northwest before bending northeast through the northern Allegheny hardwood forest, following a mix of wide forest roads and singletrack. It ends near Watershed Road and Interstate Parkway, close to the New York state line. The trail is part of the Tuna Valley Trail Association system and crosses lands managed by the Bradford City Water Authority, with options to connect to the nearby Marilla Trail System or Hidden Valley Passage. Depending on your chosen route, it can be completed as a longer point-to-point hike or combined with other trails for a loop-style experience.
Shortly after starting, the trail enters dense forest rich in native plant life, including the namesake Indian Pipe flower. At various points along the way, hikers will encounter forest wetlands, seasonal streams, and opportunities to view wildlife. The terrain remains generally smooth and rolling, making it suitable for moderate hiking, trail running, or mountain biking. In winter, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing are possible when snow coverage allows. This network access allows for longer day hikes in the Marilla watershed system.
