Loop
The Heath Forest Trails Outer Loop begins at the Bogie Place trailhead and links a series of color-marked trails through quiet hardwood and conifer forest. The route starts on the Yellow Trail, heading gently downhill toward Eastman Brook. Here, hikers pass wetland views and several active beaver dams before climbing slightly to meet the Orange Trail. Continue along the Orange Trail until reaching the Pink Trail which is accessible from a secondary trailhead on Troon Drive and winds through rich wildlife habitat providing an optional variation through the upper section of the forest. Follow the Pink Trail to connect with the Red and then Blue blazed trails to return to the Yellow Trail and complete the loop.
This route remains relatively level with a few short climbs and is well-marked at all junctions. In winter, the trails remain open for snowshoeing, though they are not groomed. Free parking is available at Bogie Place with a seasonal pass. Eastman Brook is visible along parts of the route, but water should be filtered if used. This is a peaceful and accessible option for day hikes in the Upper Valley, with forested terrain and the chance to spot ruffed grouse and other wildlife.
