Description
Follow the orange blazes. This trail starts off the Bear Pond Trail, just before the gate. The trail breaks off to the left and enters the woods. In a short distance, you'll come to a junction where right will take you to Campsite 27 and left will lead you to Balance Rock. The trail continues to climb over small switchbacks and steep little ascents. Toward the top, the trail basically follows the ridgeline. There are good views through here when the trees are devoid of leaves. The blazes seem to disappear at this point, and the trail becomes more of a bushwhack to Balance Rock. Balance Rock wasn't the spectacular geological formation that I was expecting.
