This short trail network begins at a small parking area off Bayview Road on the southern edge of Dover, New Hampshire. From the trailhead kiosk, follow the wide, mostly flat path into a mix of forested uplands and estuarine habitat along the Bellamy River. The main Clements Point Trail is marked with yellow blazes and forms a partial loop that extends toward a tidal overlook at Clements Point. Around 0.5 miles in, hikers can branch off on the red-blazed Cove Trail for a short loop that skirts tidal creeks and mudflats. Continue along Clements Point Trail to reach the river’s edge, then return along the same route. Several wooden footbridges and boardwalks cross over wet areas and marsh zones.
This is an easy, family-friendly route with no major climbs, but it passes through important bird habitat—especially productive during spring and fall migration. Expect views of Little Bay and opportunities to spot herons, waterfowl, and shorebirds near the shoreline. Trails are well marked and open to foot traffic only.
