Loop
The Doe Farm Loop begins at the trailhead parking area off Bennett Road in Durham, where a short access path leads to a kiosk and map. From there, head straight into the woods and follow the main trail as it forms a gentle loop through mature forest and over soft, well-maintained tread. At the first Y-intersection, stay left to follow the outer loop clockwise. The route gradually descends toward the Lamprey River, with several short spur trails leading to scenic river viewpoints along the way.
After passing near the river, the trail turns west and gently climbs back through mixed hardwoods and hemlock stands. You’ll pass a few old stone walls and glacial erratics typical of the region before rejoining the access path near the kiosk. The Doe Farm Loop is ideal for mellow day hikes in southern New Hampshire, offering quiet woods and riverside access just a short drive from Durham’s town center.
