The Piscassic Greenway spans conserved land between Newfields and Newmarket, offering a low-elevation network of trails through forest, fields, and wetlands. The route can be accessed from trailheads on Neal Mill Road, Bald Hill Road, or Halls Mill Road—each offering short connector paths into the main system. From the Bald Hill Road entrance, hikers can follow the Mraz Trail through open farmland and shaded woods to reach a junction with the Byrne Trail. From here, turn left for a gradual walk toward Otis Hill Trail, or head right to complete a loop around the Byrne Spur, which includes a boardwalk crossing over a wetland area with wildlife viewing opportunities.
The route features easy to moderate walking on packed earth and boardwalks with minimal elevation change. Most junctions are well marked, and terrain remains suitable for beginner hikers or families. Designated sections also support mountain biking, snowmobiling, and horseback riding. Trails remain open year-round, offering quiet winter snowshoeing and spring bird activity near the Piscassic River.
