Description
The Jackrabbit Loop is one of four marked trails inside the Desert National Wildlife Refuge, and though it is only 0.2 mile in length, visitors must begin on this trail to access the refuge's other trails. The easy trail begins immediately behind the Desert National Wildlife Refuge Center at an interpretive sign. It heads quickly into the brush along Corn Creek, a spring-fed, year-round creek, before quickly looping back. The path is paved and handicapped accessible, and it features a few interpretive signs. The Bighorn Loop forks off from two points along the Jackrabbit Loop. The trail's end is at the doors of the Corn Creek Station Visitor Center. Water, bathrooms, and a covered patio are available at the trailhead, even during times when the visitor center is closed.
