From the small parking area at the end of the dirt road off Granite Street, begin heading north on the main trail. Stay right at trail marker 15 as the route climbs gradually through mixed forest. Turn left at marker 20 to head south over North Monoosnoc Hill, where a ledge near the summit offers views northwest toward Mount Monadnock. After descending, turn left at marker 45. Continue along the main woods road, staying straight through markers 25 and 35 to return to the trailhead.
This moderate route includes rocky sections, old stone walls, and seasonal conditions that may leave the trail wet, muddy, or icy. Dogs must remain leashed on this route due to watershed regulations. Hikers can also explore additional trails to the south that connect to the broader Monoosnoc Hills trail system. Despite its proximity to downtown Leominster, this wooded route offers quiet terrain, rewarding views, and a scenic summit experience.
