Loop
Starting from the Ledges trailhead off Fitchburg Road in Leominster State Forest, follow the Ledges Trail north through a mixed hardwood and pine forest. The route begins with a gradual climb and skirts the base of Crow Hill Ledges, offering a close-up view of the rock faces popular with climbers. At the junction, turn right onto Crow Hill Trail and descend toward the Crow Hill Pond area. Cross the lot between the two ponds and continue onto Wolf Rock Trail. After crossing through the Crow Pond beach parking area, carefully cross Fitchburg Road to connect with Crocker Pond Trail.
This forested section leads north to a junction with Crow Hill Trail, which follows a portion of the Midstate Trail. Turn left here and head south, climbing gradually to reach the top of the Crow Hill Ledges. From this high point, expansive views stretch across the surrounding forest, with Mount Wachusett visible to the west. Finish the route by rejoining the Ledges Trail or taking the emergency access road to return to the starting point. Seasonal highlights include blooming mountain laurel and quiet pond views, with a rewarding ridgeline traverse to cap off this moderately challenging hike.
