Trail Overview

This is one trail you don't want to miss. If you're in the area to find epic views of the Grand Tetons and free camp spots, then this trail is for you! The trail is not hard, you can do the whole thing in 2WD. Unless there are heavy rains, in which case you will need 4WD. It's a big climb up the mountain to breathtaking views of the Teton Range.

Do not waste your time looking for dispersed camping up here, the forest service has restricted camping to three designated spots along the entirely of the trail.

Can confirm road is open and easy. Some high clearance sections on a few of the dispersed camp site turn ins but saw plenty of 2WD sedans in sites off the main road. Beautiful place. If camping it fills up early. Prospective campers for the night are trolling sites just after sun up. Very dusty and lots of mosquitoes this past weekend - but worth it. Easy access to Tetons and Yellowstone.

Washboard
Trail was clear, no obstacles, did it all in 2wd even though we were in a jeep. However, there is a lot of washboard and rough road surface, so airing down is strongly recommended. Took us a couple hours since we were enjoying the sites. Passed a lot of campers.
