Trail Overview

This trail is a 4-mile-long out-and-back trail that branches off of Red Mountain and heads Northeast to where it ends at a gate. This trail is a well-maintained gravel road that is wide enough for two vehicles to comfortably pass. As it heads North and crosses into Wyoming, there are many signs of oil and gas facilities along the sides of the trail, which are all still actively in use and should not be messed with. Along this trail, there are some views of the surrounding mountains and forest, with the best views being off of 2 of the short spur trails that both lead to an overlook. This trail is only open to highway-legal vehicles and does not have a seasonal closure date, but may be impassable due to snow during the winter and early spring.
