Trail Overview

This trail takes you to the top of Kennaday Peak, where you will find a historic fire lookout. The trail starts out as a well-maintained forest service road, a little narrow at the bottom but two-way traffic is possible. As you near the top it does become narrow and very rocky, only allowing one-way traffic. There is a large area to park once at the top where you can take in the stunning views of the snowy range mountains.

This is a smooth forest service road till about the last mile. The road narrows to single traffic and becomes rocky.

You can easily pass in a side by side through the snow and over the downed trees. Some of the downed trees were able to be cleared. Would not recommend unless you have decent tires however. Snow is melting conditions will probably be much better in a couple weeks.

Trail is fairly well maintained, but still very rocky and very narrow in spots. Passable for larger 4WD vehicles, but would recommend decent ground clearance. Incredible views and the parking lot at the top is a great lunch spot.
