Trail Overview

This trail offers almost every terrain you can think of to encounter. The trail starts off by driving down a flooded creek bed, and there are many water crossings after that as you travel alongside multiple mountain lakes. The trail is quite rocky and technical but most high clearance 4x4s should be able to traverse the trail.

Difficulty

There are multiple water crossings of around 12 inches deep. There are also lots of rocks, some loose and some very solid large ones. There are a couple of mud holes accompanied by immediate hill climbs out of them.

This is by far the toughest “4” trail I’ve ever been on. We came in from the backside (Arlington) and the rock gardens and boulders were really tough. I would not call this suitable for a stock 4x4. A lift and 33s would be the minimum I would run had I known better. I have a stock 4th gen TRD Off Road Tacoma with skids and sliders, and boy did I use them on this trail, more than I would have liked. Something like a Rubicon Wrangler would eat this up, but most stock rigs are going to struggle. The SxS and atvs have really chewed things up.

For a 4 it's pretty tough. Did in early august. Was a super cool trail. So worth it. Would do again. Got halfway through the trail ran into the locals on SXS. They couldn't believe I was in a full-size up there and didn't recommend completing the trail. I chose fo finish despite their advice. I barely fit through. But its very possible. Body damage is very possible as well. For the experienced driver this is a fun trail. Escaped with 0 damage. Definitely a high clearance trail. Bad weather could make this trail trouble. Did it in sunny dry conditions.

A 4 is a fair rating for the trail. No difficult obstacles, it’s just super rocky and very bumpy most of the way. We completed it in about 2.5 hrs with stopping at the abandoned cabins for a break. I’m sure airing down would help make it smoother. High clearance and 4wd necessary but lockers are not. It’s a pretty area.

I drive a base modle 3rd gen 2.7 tacoma ACLB with 4wd, I have a full set of skid plates and a swapped out the shocks for the trd offroad shocks. tire wise I'm running 265/75s and I aired down to 15psi. this trail pushed the truck to its limits I got through sure but there was alot of scraping and use of the skid plates even hit the rear diff once or twice. if you have a tacoma here's what I'll say know how to drive and pick your lines carefully, if your in a stock wrangler you will have 0 issues. if I where to do this trail again I'm going to at least have 33s rock sliders and a slightly larger lift I think. overall great trail to test your rig and your skill level.

No clue what the previous reviewer is about BUT this trail was amazing! Plenty technical in areas but nothing a lift and skid plates can’t handle, fun water crossings and deep mud holes, if you have a winch that makes life easier but we never got stuck, 4LO should get you through the entirety. Gorgeous views and you’ll feel proud after! 20PSI is a must.

This trail is not easy, or moderate. It was very difficult in a full size jeep. It should honestly be rated either as an ATV trail, or at least difficult. Some sketchy mud crossings around halfway that I got stuck in, and the trail doesn’t let up. It’s difficult from the start and stays that way the whole time, with only brief breaks. Don’t go alone and be prepared to get yourself unstuck. Was it doable in a full size jeep? Yes. Did it come out unscathed? Nope. Would I do it again? Absolutely not. Be safe

We went on October 20th and it obviously had some standing water as well as two or three creeks running through
