Trail Overview
This road takes you through beautiful backcountry, connecting I-80 to Highway 287. It is surrounded by open views and unique rock formations. You can combine this route with Pumpkin Vine Road to make a complete loop. This is a fairly smooth dirt road that receives minimal maintenance during the winter. Snowdrifts can become impassable due to high winds and the large amounts of snow the area receives. Low-lying areas may also retain water after rainstorms, so be cautious of muddy spots. There are a few cattle guards and blind curves, so high speeds are not recommended. Wildlife and scenic views are the main attractions along this road. As it is surrounded by private property, be sure to stay on the designated route. You will cross the Union Pacific Railroad tracks near the southern end of the road, offering a chance to see a passing train. Do not attempt to access the road along the tracks, as that area is also private property.
