Trail Overview
La Fave Road - FS 2102 is a moderately maintained gravel forest road located on the eastern edge of the Nicolet National Forest. This trail is a gentle gravel road that is suitable for all vehicle types. This trail navigates over subtle rolling hills as it slowly winds its way north or south. The trail is wide enough for two vehicles in its entirety; there are also moderately maintained ditch lines which aid in trail width, as well as the overall sight lines of the trail. The scenery surrounding this trail is dominated by young hardwoods and towering pines. Scenery into the surrounding forest is limited due to the undergrowth, which is present throughout much of the surrounding area. This trail has several other trails and trail systems that intersect and is a great way to quickly navigate from more remote trails. Cell service in this area is generally acceptable, but areas outside of this can be spotty; if planning on exploring further and the area is unknown, downloaded maps should be considered.
Difficulty
This trail can be completed by all experience levels of riders. The trail is well-maintained by the local towns. Due to the loose gravel, certain parts of the trail can easily push vehicles around during times of extreme drought. In addition, this can also create a considerable amount of dust. The trail has great visibility throughout, as well as semi-maintained ditch lines that could be used to pull off.
