Trail Overview

IB 56 begins with a steep quarter-mile climb from the south end, featuring embedded rock, shallow ruts, and some loose surface material. This section can be slick in wet conditions due to the grade and surface composition. After the climb, the trail levels out and continues flat alongside a field and through forested terrain until it meets IB 49. While short overall, this connector offers access to advanced trails IB 86 and IB 76 from the south, and its initial climb may present a more moderate challenge for less experienced drivers or top-heavy vehicles.
