Trail Overview
Tronsen Meadows is a fun intermediate single track in the Wenatchee Mountains. It is a great access trail into the Table Mountain/Ken Wilcox trail system; however, much of this trail system was hit by a fire several years ago, and now many of the trails are impassable with downfall, at least until they get cut each year. As of July 2026, Tronsen Meadows was one of the only trails in the direct vicinity that was fully clear of downfall, but volunteers are actively working to get more of the trails passable again. There’s been a ton of trail work and cutting to get it passable, including filling in giant holes from uprooted trees and cutting some massive Douglas firs that can be multiple feet in diameter. In addition to the potential for log hazards, the trail also has some really steep spots of climbing, and several narrow exposed spots of side-hilling. The dirt is very loose and silty, and troughed in spots. It mostly ascends from north to south, gaining 1,200 feet over 2 miles. A few spots are really steep where you’ll want to keep your momentum up. There are a few small rocks and roots in the trail that make it more technical. There’s one spot where a giant tree has been uprooted, and now the trail goes around the root bed, where you have to ride over a pile of rocks and also have low overhead clearance along the root bed. The south end ends near the Ken Wilcox Horse Camp near several other single-track trails.
Difficulty
This is an intermediate trail due to steep sections of climbing on loose terrain, small stair steps from roots and rocks, and narrow side-hilling. Since this trail goes through a burn area, there is potential for new log hazards, and it will require extensive cutting in the early season.
