Trail Overview
Starvation Lake Road is a 1.8-mile point-to-point route that crosses a mix of Washington DNR land and private property before ending in the Little Pend Oreille National Wildlife Refuge. The road begins as a wide, two-lane gravel road and provides access to Starvation Lake and its campground. Numerous private property parcels border the road along the way. Past Starvation Lake, the road narrows to a winding, single-lane gravel road with some potholes before entering the wildlife refuge. Users should remain on the road and respect all private property boundaries. A Discover Pass is required when recreating on DNR-managed portions of the route.
Difficulty
Starvation Lake Road is rated easy. Most of the route is a wide, maintained gravel road, with the narrower section and occasional potholes past Starvation Lake creating the only notable concerns.
