Trail Overview

This single-lane dirt road is a nice little connector between Patit Road to the north and Eckler Mountain Rd to the south. It is closed seasonally, and there are signs at each end to notify of its status, but it can be traveled by most vehicles mid-year when conditions are dry. When wet, however, the dirt turns to slick mud, and due to the grade, it becomes tractionless, and drainage ruts appear. There are no shoulders for the most part, and occasional steep drop-offs combined with blind corners warrant a slow, relaxing pace while you enjoy the views of the surrounding valleys. It's just shy of 1.4 miles long but worth it for the views and possible wildlife sightings (deer, elk, wild turkey).

Difficulty

Typically, very easy when dry. Narrow road and blind corners make it a bit more important to focus on the road instead of the scenery.
