Trail Overview

Easy scenic route through the woods that can be done in a 2WD with good clearance. There are wonderful views and plenty of side roads to check out and explore. There are also a few dispersed camping spots along the way. Be careful at blind corners, this road sees a decent amount of traffic and logging activity.

Difficulty

The gravel road is very easy but has a lot of potholes. It's one vehicle wide but has plenty of spots to pass oncoming traffic.

A beautiful drive with breathtaking views that could be done in a high clearance 2WD vehicle, or cautiously driving a standard SUV. There were a few puddles after the past week of rains, but nothing more than a couple inches deep. The road was well maintained, and no significant obstacles, with only getting a little rocky when taking some of the side treks that break off from the main road. With stops along the way to let the dogs do some sniffing, the loop starting at Little Kalama Rd and heading east back to hwy 503 took about 2 hours.

The trail was in really good shape on the back side of the hills there was about a foot of snow but nothing any ordinary 4x4 couldn't do. Pleasureful ride.

Awesome trail for a quiet rainy day. Entrance was pretty steep, but smooth. There was quite a bit of loose rocks throughout the route. Encountered a few big pickup trucks, with what were likely hunters. There is a quarry like area littered with shot gun shell casings, so just be mindful that people come up here to shoot their guns. All in all a great trail with awesome views, that practically any SUV or truck can get through with decent ground clearance.

Nice muddy and rocky trail, for my first time being in that trail had a blast and was very well maintained. Good for beginners and relaxing fun. Didn’t saw any areas for over night camping, just an fyi.

Trail was clear but there were numerous downed trees that had already been cleared off the trail. Some side trails were narrow and a bit more difficult than the main trail. Overall it's a very enjoyable trail (and the side trails) to spend a day, or two, investigating.
